Chateau Julien’s 2007 Barrel Fermented Chardonnay is a New Release and a Gold Medal Wine Club Special Selection! This California French styled Chardonnay is elegant, dry, and fruity with a nice oak presence that continues to deliver vintage after vintage. Previous releases have earned a multitude of value accolades including being named a “Best Buy” and one of the “Top 10 White Wines under $10” by the Beverage Tasting Institute. Since this fresh fruit flavored Chardonnay has just been released, it has not yet been sent out for review, but we expect this 2007 vintage to be right on the heels of its predecessors and earn the valuable honors it deserves. Hints of lemon drops and ripe pear fruit nuances complement forward fruit aromas of butter cream and vanilla before introducing flavors of apricot, peach, pineapple, and vanilla on the palate. A nice texture and rich mouth feel are achieved and a long, broad finish leaves you with tantalizing fruit flavors. The 2007 Barrel Fermented Chardonnay was aged for 7 months in oak barrels, which helps to achieve well-rounded flavors and an elegant balance in the finished wine.
