Jason-Stephens’ Estate Chardonnay is the definitive expression of a balanced Chardonnay. The winery’s goal with this wine is to craft a consistent expression of their distinctive terrior, through a fruit forward Chardonnay that is elegant, complex, and balanced. Striving to make an interesting Chardonnay, one that is balanced with fruit, structure, and a soft texture, winemaker Jason Goelz mastered a beautiful 2009 vintage, with a crisp, fruity quality that makes an excellent choice for pairing with food. The Jason-Stephens 2009 Estate Chardonnay has soft tropical fruit aromas of pineapple, banana, guava and poached pears. The wine is very fruit forward on the palate with a nice viscous mid-palate and lingering flavors of Crème brûlée, lemon custard, and a slight nutty component. The Beverage Tasting Institute awards this Chardonnay 93 Points and Best Buy: “Rich tropical pineapple, kiwi and lime custard aromas with a lively, fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body with a long, elegant stylish finish. Very Burgundian with loads of bristling table friendly acidity and lush flavors.” Try pairing the Jason-Stephens 2009 Chardonnay with roasted chicken and salmon.
